Sambhavi Yogam

Śāmbhavi yogam

Introduction According to science sound comes from matter. But the Indian mysticism and philosophy takes a unique stand that matter emerges from sound. Even the super yogic text by Thirumoolar called Thirumandirum reveals that the creation is the outcome of an admixture of the great five elements called Prithvi, Appu, Theyu, Vayu and Akasa in a fixed proportion. It also emphasis that these five elements originate from the divine syllable and sound called Om.

Therefore it is this sound prevailing in the cosmic silence and pervading throughout the universe which underlies all God’s creations including the universe as a whole. Thus it is clear now that sound is the pivot around which the human faculties and the life force act in an unknown style of coordination for everyone to be alive and active as a man of earth. Next comes the role of light underlying the survival and existence of man on earth. Many phenomenal and noumenal activities are alive under the direction of such light. Even the soul and self have their existence and action at the behest of such a light.

To be precise the sound cited above is not an audible one to be located by the modern science. The great treatise of sri adhi sankara called Soundarya lahari seems to be a cross section of sound. The recent discovery of the Russian and American psychologists about the light body around the human physique vide Krilian photography is worth mentioning here and this luminescence all around him is the sustaining force of man’s existence on earth as a mortal. To assume this light and make it merge with the physique for a fuse is the target of yoga. Once this light body is drawn inside the physique in yoga, the man becomes a super human and this is the point of gaining the great siddies called Kaya Siddhi.

Kaya Siddhi is a super feat in yoga where man is freed from the seven ages of life (decay and destruction of gross body towards death) The mighty Siddhas claim this Siddhi in self-help backed by extreme grace of the divine. Thus the human physique is active and alive on earth at the mercy of the two vital forces called sound and light. Even in yoga man has many challenges posed by phenomenal, sensuous, and body motions through thought, breathing and speech. These three when judiciously integrated in yoga leads to unfoldment of the dark sides of the great heroes – sound and light.

Amarakavi Siddeswara was enormously graced by the divine and the cosmic truths about the entire gamut of yogic practice were revealed to him in Brahma Nishta after his successful continued penance during the past seven janmas. The relevant portions from his great works have been culled out to create this title in a way suited to the beginners and the adepts equally. Thus śāmbhavi yoga – the art of unification of nadha and bindu is well detailed in this book touching all the vital areas of cosmic truths connected with light and sound in line with the spiritual experiences of Amarakavi Siddeswara.

We hope that the readers will bask in the light of enlightenment available out of reading this unique book and grace the publisher with good support and feed back.
